lookfantastic beauty box subscription- addicted

So for a while now i’ve ordered a monthly subscription box – the only one i’ve found which ships to Romania. It’s called lookfantastic and I LOVE IT!

I began opening the boxes  on my instagram stories and you guys requested more details. Here they are:

Lookfantastic is actually a shop where you can order a lot of beauty products but it also has a monthly subscription box  which is delivered worldwide  and contains a lot of yummy make-up and skincare stuff in sample but also full size.

So after filling in your info, you can subscribe to either a single month(18pounds per box),a 3 month (17.50 pounds), 6 month(17.00pounds) or 12 month(16.50pounds) subscription. I opted for the last one. With free shipping.

The box gets to you in a couple of days through DPD curier(at least in Ro) right at your door. It is usually dispatched within 24 hours.

I know a “surprise”box is not for everyone as you might get stuff you don’t need or suit your complexion but there’s always friends 😀 and birthday presents 😛

Personally, i love testing make-up and skincare and i can’t wait to open this box every month. If you’re not sure if you’d like the products in the box, be sure to follow me on instagram and watch my instastories for reviews/unboxings.

get your box here 🙂

Hope you found this useful.

Fly free, dear Cora!

I promised my next article would be about something else, make-up related. But as life is full of surprises, and not all of them are pleasant, this will be on a different topic.

Today i said goodbye to my beloved Cora.
She was an 8/9 year old bull terrier. I adopted her one year ago and found out she was used as a bait. For dog fights.
Maybe you’ll ask what that means.

In dog fights, in order to get the males angry and agitated, they first enter a dog who they can attack before the real fight. And as my Cora hasn’t had a single aggresive bone in her body, she was only suited for this “job”.
Yes. Romania. (But also other countries)

She had marks all over her body but mostly on her face. In september 2016 she found out what a warm bed and a house full of love feels like. And she never looked back.

She loved everyone, dog, human, cat as if they were the most precious beings on earth. She cleaned everyone for hours and she was the most grateful dog i have ever had and met.

Saturday we found out she has renal failure and yesterday(monday), an ultrasound showed a big tumor on her liver.
I took the decision to take her out of the clinic and come to our little cabin in the mountains to spend one last day together.

In the morning i put her to sleep myself, in the sun, on the grass, after a walk and several hugs and kisses…and tears.
I must admit it’s one of the hardest things i’ve done.

She was with us for only one year (although it felt like she was part of the family for years) but i really hope we made it the best year of her life.

I know we always tend to appreciate things and beings more after we lose them, and as i’ve had to let go lots of rescued dogs, none of them was my own until now. I now understand the imense pain for a gentle soul who only showed love to everyone who came her way.

Although the pain is tremendous and she will be terribly missed , i want to encourage all of you who are thinking of getting a dog, to consider saving a senior. They are the ones who have the smallest chances of adoption and most of them never know what love truly is.

A senior dog will rarely tear up the house or pee inside.
A senior dog isn’t as active as a puppy so it can be perfect for the ones who work a lot but have 20 minutes for a walk in the evening.
A senior dog is calmer and wiser than a young dog.
A senior dog appreciates a warm place to sleep and doesn’t require a lot of special care (unless health issues occur).
A senior dog deserves his last months/years to be filled with love after a life in a shelter or abusement.

2017 marks my 5th year in animal welfare, in volunteering, saving, rehoming, neutering and all in all CARING and doing something in this matter.
With Cora’s passing i promised myself i will only adopt old dogs from now on because every one of them needs a chance and not very many offer it.

Cora, thank you for an amazing year, i hope someday we’ll meet again.
Momma loves you forever❤️

Mountain trip essentials

The last blog post i wrote was about my escapades at my small cabin in the Baisoara Mountains and as i have returned for a few days, i thought i’d show my essentials bag.

Because i take a break from make-up and mostly even skincare itself, i do make sure i have moisturizer on me and i start with my hands. the hand cream i’m finishing up at the moment is the Marc Cain one. It has a very gentle smell and it’s not greasy nor sticky, things which i look for, in a hand cream.

*i think it was a limited edition as i cannot find a link for those interested 🙁

This chapter is a difficult one as i am transitioning to a cruelty free lifestyle and i’m having a hard time finding a good and natural deodorant. I brought the simple Ice Crystal deodorant with me, which is basically mineral salt in a stick. It has no smell, it’s 100% natural and it does the job pretty good if you’re not a very sweaty person 😀 . I pretty much am, so i’m looking for better versions without the harm of animal testing 🙂

*you can find it in DM

This little dude is a great helper with my allergies(cats, dust, pollen). HayMax (i have the lavender one) is an organic, drug-free pollen barrier. If allergies appear, you can apply a small amount at the base of your nostrils after sneezing. *you can find it in Sensiblu

I try to be pretty careful with applying spf, that’s why i brought a face one of 30. I’ts pretty good, although it’s pretty small and not quite cheap. I will not be repurchasing as Biotherm is not cruelty free. So leave your recommendations in the comments 🙂 *bought from Sephora

One  of the face moisturisers i use at the moment is from Prisaca Transilvania (a natural and very light one) called Sanzaiana which i use by night(i bought it from a market with all natural things if i am not mistaking). i use it mainly when my skin is a bit tired and sensitive as it has no perfumes and only natural ingredients.

The Ordinary  cream which i love and use pretty regularly has a lovely delicate smell and it’s a bit thicker in consistency without leaving my face greasy. I enjoy this brand as it is cruelty free and i will be repurchasing for sure. *i received it in a #lookfantastic subscription box.

Stress check- Breathe in-  from ThisWorks. Love love love

Such an interesting little roll on for those busy moments or stressful days. Not that my days are stressful here, quite the contrary, but i always keep this baby by my side because 99% of the time i am a stressed mess. The ones who know me, will agree:)) It’s said to be applied onto pulse points and breathe deeply. *from #lookfantastic as well.

I will never have an essentials list without a perfume. Even if i’ll be going in a deserted place where no one can smell me. I am a perfume addict and i am not afraid to say it. The big issue is that the majority of the perfumes are not from cruelty free brands so i will be struggling in this area as well. The perfume i chose to bring is a very dear and repurchased one. Jesus del Pozo – Halloween . whoever owns it, knows why  🙂 fresh, clean and crisp.

*bought from www.aoro.ro

A body cream never hurt anyone although i have no shower here :)) I always need at least a small little baby size body cream with me. The Body Shop’s Moringa is a body milk and fits perfectly in the hot summer days. *you can find it on TheBodyShop sites or Iulius mall if you are in Cluj

And last but certainly not least, is a hand sanitiser from Bath and body works. This one is the Champagne Sparkle but to be honest i own almost every one of them and i got addicted really fast. i have one in the car, in every bag, in my bedroom and at the studio.  Always comes in handy 😀

*you can find it on aoro.ro

What do you use and take with you on a short trip where no make-up is needed? leave your suggestions in the comments below.

And please please try to buy cruelty free stuff as much as you can, no animals should get harmed for our products.

Baisoara detox

Eh….pe asta-l las in romaneste.

Las’ ca-i bine s-asa rau. Ce atatea pattern-uri.

Deci. Muntele Baisorii. Cabana, amintiri, familie, relaxare…

Ce-i drept am cam ramas doar eu din nepoti…restul (Sandi-sora mea, Georgi & Alex-verisorii) au hotarat ca-i mai bine in Canada, Anglia, Emirate…

Ca observ ca asta-i intervalul in care “i keep my sh*t together”.

“Alone time is when i distance myself from the voices of the world so i can hear my own”. Cine-o zis-o? Ioi vai atat de cliseistica Oprah care cica-i considerata  “too mainstream”de majoritatea marilor scriitori de cuvinte pompoase de aici de pe wordpress :)) ma lesi.

This is my happy place.

I created it for me. And YOU.

And if you’re nuts enough to go from…

watching cute dogs on the internet to rescueing serious abusive cases…

seeking happiness and positivity by procrastinating some days and watching youtube/series all day

reading odd self improvement books while lighting a sh*t ton of scented candles

searching for the perfect, healthy, cruelty free and vegan options for everything while munching on a veggie burger

teaching dog grooming on weekdays;  reviewing and doing make-up on weekends

dog rescue-ing and partying on the same day

thinking that life’s too short to keep in mind what others “know” is best for you

and just enjoying every day as it comes whilst foolishly believing the world will gradually become a better place…

this is the place for you.

our place. meet you when you’re here.
